The oral surgical practice of Dr. Waldmeyer focuses on biological dentistry for the treatment of patients and relies on the sustainably produced quality products of MELAG's system solution for practice hygiene.
Vision and Concept
We opened our oral surgical practice with a focus on biological dentistry in 2018. The biological treatment concept involves considering the individual as the source of their own healing, which includes utilizing the patient's own materials such as bone or extracted teeth for treatment. When planning our practice, it was important for us to pursue a holistic concept that is reflected in the practice philosophy, corporate design of the website and printed materials, and practice equipment. Applying the highest technical standards in our practice is just as important to us as using durable, sustainably produced products. We appreciate the quality made in Germany - knowing that our MELAG devices were manufactured entirely at the Berlin location. The MELAG system solution forms the centerpiece of our instrument reprocessing area.
Conserving resources, saving costs, and enabling secure workflows.
Our MDR (Medical Device Reprocessing) unit is a two-room concept with a pass-through to a room for sterilization. On the dirty side of the reprocessing area, we have the MELAtherm 10 thermal disinfector with a selection of inserts and accessories tailored to our needs for perfect cleaning and disinfection of instruments. On the clean side, we have the Vacuklav 40 B+ Evolution, which allows us to sterilize many instruments quickly and safely. Our MELAG autoclave impresses with proven MELAG quality, extremely fast program runtimes, smart features such as intelligent drying, and a sleep mode button for energy saving. We package individual instruments with the smooth-running MELAseal 200 film sealing device. For the reprocessing and packaging of surgical instrument sets, we use MELAstore. This packaging system, consisting of MELAstore trays and boxes, is environmentally friendly and cost-effective. With this solution, we consume very little packaging material. After cleaning and disinfection, we remove the trays with the instrument sets and place them in a MELAstore box for sterilization in the autoclave. After successful sterilization, the instruments can be stored in the sealed packages or used again. MELAstore saves working time and protects our practice team from needlestick injuries.
Conclusion and Outlook
By implementing the MELAG system for practice hygiene, we have successfully achieved the highest level of protection for our patients. The entire reprocessing process and all workflows related to instrument reprocessing are optimally coordinated and secure. The individual components of the system solution deliver reliable results and work perfectly hand in hand with our team. We strive to continually advance our expertise and technology. In this regard, we have great confidence in the long-standing experience and innovative strength of MELAG as a partner for practice hygiene.
